While I was away from here I do have to admit I spent a lot of my spare time exploring other blogs. I have a few favorites that I will be grabbing buttons for later today. I was exploring blogs about frugal living, saving money and coupons. A few blogs about coupon shopping and that was it! Now I can't get enough of 'em.

Now that I'm back I will be posting as much as I can about my shopping trips, awesome store deals, and everything I can to help you save some cash. Some blogging moms blog about ways to save cash plus stress and frustration at the store but not me. All I can try to help you save is cash. As soon as I can walk into a Walmart and not immediately have the urge to run people over with my cart I will let you know.

So, i just got back from Smith's Food and Drug. When I walked out of the store my grocery bag was filled with @ $22 worth of products and guess what I spent...
LESS THAN $8.00!

When I walk through my front door I can still smell a hint of vicks, child vomit, Lysol and bleach. Sleep? I think blinking is as close as I have been to sleep in days.
I would like to offer advice to anybody who is planning on having more than 1 child or any parent who has more than 1 child but hasn't been through cold and flu season yet. If one child gets sick, they will probably ALL get sick. Be prepared! If you have kids and think I am wrong because your kids never get each other sick....CALL ME PLEASE and tell me how to work that magic.
First it was our oldest 3 kids who go to school. Then it was the 5 year old at home. This makes sense of course that it happened in this order because he wants to do everything they do, see everything they see, touch everything they touch and with his big heart and his trusty sidekick "cuddles" the teddy bear, he tries to nurse them back to health when they are sick. BAM! 4 out of 5 kids sick... until tonight. The last one to get sick is our newborn baby girl who is in my arms with a fever.
Some things you should always have stock piled if there is a cold or flu bug going around and you have children are:
Disinfecting Wipes-for door knobs, light switches, buttons, etc.
Disinfecting Solution-for when you run out of wipes
Vitamin C-and lots of it for you and them in any form (Emergen-C drink mixes work well)
A small trash can or bucket-because sometimes tossing your cookies in a small trash can is better than tossing your cookies in the room, down the hall, and in the bathroom while trying to make it to the toilet
Coffee-trust me on this one!TheFrazzledMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07975076465220284907noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8015048110138676617.post-45846021018890002192009-10-10T14:21:00.000-07:002009-10-12T10:36:55.088-07:00REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLEAlmost everyone you know has probably made a profile on a social networking site. You can keep in touch with friends and relatives, see what everyone is up to, post photos and create albums, etc. I found a great site called swapmamas.com. It's a social network site with tons of the same great features as all the other social networks.. This site has something that sets it apart from all others. It's what they are about. "Smarter, Greener, and Kicking the Economy to the Curb". That's the first thing you see on the top of the page in big bold letters. I joined a local swap group on my first visit to the website. I know I am not the only person with a box or bag of clothes that didn't make it out to the yard sale, or were set aside waiting to finally be donated to the salvation army or goodwill or a box of clothes still sitting in the garage or closet you just can't part with because your child only wore them twice and you spent good money on them. Well, why throw it out or donate it to be resold when you can swap it for nice things that you need. Like... if you need a jacket for your kid because walmart hasn't started selling them yet and it snowed last week (you'll understand if you live in Montana).
You recycle the clothes, toys, etc through this online community, helping reduce waste, helping out other people, making friends and saving yourself money! I am still new to it but I have already fallen in love with the idea and now visit the site a few times a day.

If you are interested you should check out their blog @ swapmamas.blogspot.comTheFrazzledMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07975076465220284907noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8015048110138676617.post-58248757984493793182009-10-06T14:18:00.000-07:002009-10-10T14:20:54.050-07:00To Work Or Not To Work? After a very refreshing 2 months of maternity leave I find myself faced with a very hard choice. To work or not to work? On one hand, we need the income and after spending 3 years of my life in the same office, it's like my second home. On the other hand, I love spending time with my kids, I am finally figuring out this whole cooking thing (I haven't burned anything this month!!), and I think I might want to be one of those moms that volunteers for all the school events . Maybe.

Baby steps....

The only way I am gong to be able to accomplish this is by finding a way to spend less money or make more money. Since my goal is to stay home and not work then I guess I should be brainstorming on how to spend less. Here we go!TheFrazzledMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07975076465220284907noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8015048110138676617.post-78673463218207638312009-08-05T08:39:00.000-07:002009-08-05T09:12:40.821-07:00More Kids Means We Need More Income....When we found out we were having baby # 5, the thought did cross our minds that we needed more income than what we had. Unfortunately, it was just a thought and I haven't really done anything about it all these months. So, a couple of weeks ago it really set in when we realized that we didn't have anything for this baby because we donated ALL of the baby stuff a few months before the positive pregnancy test (we aren't having anymore kids anyway so why did we need it, right?wrong). Both me and my husband working full time was only enough to cover rent, gas, food, car insurance, and not much else. I panicked when my OB told me working was out of the question for the last 2 months until the baby arrives so I had to get creative and get there fast. I started doing my online surveys again and tried getting back to working with the affiliate programs and paid email sites. Pretty much everything that I could do at home without spending any money, I tried to do. It helped out a little but not enough. I have some more ideas brewing that I will share in my next post but until then I have some great sites for anyone looking to make some extra cash while you're stuck at a computer all day or stuck at home with your kids all day.

OpinionOutpost.com-this is my favorite survey site because they send the checks out faster than any other site I have used.
InboxDollars.com-I am loyal to this one because I have received so many checks from them over the past 2 years.
SendEarnings.com-almost identical to the one above.TheFrazzledMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07975076465220284907noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8015048110138676617.post-78304788010894176862009-02-19T18:23:00.000-08:002009-10-12T10:22:51.051-07:00Parenting Class? My husband and I found out last month that we are expecting our 5th child. YIPPY!!! We are very happy about it (a little nervous but happy). Our other 4 kids are amazing and we love them more than life itself.
I had an ultrsound done today (my 3rd at this office) at this great place here in town that offers free limited ultrsounds, assistance with maternity and baby items, pre-natal and post natal counseling and parenting classes. After it was done, the nurse told me that I had a beautiful family and that she wished she had parents like me and my husband to teach parenting classes!! I couldn't beleive my ears. In our eyes, we are a low income family working full time jobs, up to our knees in medical debt and always wishing we had more time to spend with our kids and each other. I never thought in my wildest dreams that anyone would every look at this disfunctional mess we call a life and say that we would be great at teaching other families how to live and parent.
After 9 hours of pondering why she would say that, I still haven't figured it out. All we did in that office was show my 2 youngest kids their new sibling swimming around on the screen, ask my son to stop kicking my daughter, tell the nurse that we were on a schedule because the oldest 2 kids had to be picked up from school soon, and I blew my husband and 2 kids kisses when they went back to the waiting room.
Then I started to think that maybe it was because we survived 4 kids already and are brave enough (or crazy enough) to have another. I'm not sure what it was but it kept a smile on my face all day. Maybe things aren't as bad as they always seem. No matter what has happened with work and bills we still have a happy family. Every step of this journey, whether it be a step up or a step down has been worth it.TheFrazzledMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07975076465220284907noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8015048110138676617.post-56489331975520983262008-11-12T12:24:00.000-08:002008-11-12T12:52:29.333-08:00Remember the GameBoy?We've come a long way since the Gameboy.
Earlier this year, my husband bought a new PSP (Playstation Portable) and nows he's addicted to it. It's a neat little machine that you can browse the web with and you can watch movies, listen to music, play games, etc. You can pretty much download anything onto it. It amazes me that we have come this far with our technology. I can't find cassette tapes anywhere and good luck finding that movie on VHS.TheFrazzledMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07975076465220284907noreply@blogger.com0
